By law, most commercial insurance plans must now offer mental /behavioral health coverage and provide benefits equal to what the plan offers for other medical conditions.

D.C. Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB) and Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) have teamed up to offer free workshops to inform our community about how parity laws increase access to mental/behavioral health care services.

At these free workshops, you will learn how to:

  • Unlock existing mental/behavioral health services provided by health insurance coverage
  • Utilize parity laws to increase access to mental/behavioral health services
  • Prepare responses or appeals for denials of mental/behavioral health service
