DBSA is entering an important period of transition. This fall, CEO Michael Pollock informed the board and staff that he will be stepping down after more than seven years of service. As he balances family responsibilities, Michael determined that this is the right moment to pass the baton to new leadership. We are deeply grateful for his dedication, guidance, and commitment to advancing DBSA’s mission.

Beginning January 1, 2026, Suzanne Baber, LCSW, will serve as Interim CEO. Suzanne currently leads DBSA’s Peer Support Services and brings more than 15 years of experience in finance, fundraising, program development, and integrated behavioral health. The Board of Directors wholeheartedly supports Suzanne in this role, and we are grateful for her leadership during this transition.
This change comes at a meaningful moment for DBSA. As we conclude our 40th anniversary year, the organization is preparing to launch its next strategic plan, focused on validating peer support and strengthening its role in standard treatment protocols. These efforts will position DBSA to expand partnerships, secure new funding, and continue providing vital resources that foster community, connection, and wellness for individuals living with mood disorders.
