Brandon was an amazing son. He gave the gift of unconditional love to those he called friends. He left this world far to early but his battle with bipolar disorder is now over. I will always cherish the 23 years he was here with me.
Over the years I have received a lot of support from the bipolar parents network and I thought he would like it if he could be the catalyst for giving back.

Beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend, Bimal Bharat Patel (May 14, 1991-May 20, 2016) fought a courageous battle against the debilitating disease of Bipolar Disorder, but fell victim to the burden of illness that eventually became too much.

Despite his ongoing battle, Bimal always met you with a smile and provided calm to those around him.

Bimal will be remembered most for his passion for cars, personal fitness, enthusiasm for living a healthy lifestyle, and love for his family.

We hope the struggles he faced will bring recognition to this crippling disease and provide strength for others to seek help.

May his courage serve as an inspiration to those who need it the most.

Our 15 year old son Julian was a sophomore in High School. He enjoyed playing football, listening to music, and taking care of his friends. As a talented running back, Julian loved to carry the ball, scoring numerous touchdowns with his team.

Perhaps his happiest moments were spent at the lake, creating memories with family and friends that now bring us joy and comfort. Julian was at the heart and soul of the lake, he saw beauty and excitement in all of his surroundings. Whether it was fishing, catching frogs and crawdaddys in the ponds and creeks as a young boy, or catching giant snapper turtles, exploring the woods and trails on his bike, by foot or golf cart, spending time on boats or sunrise surfing, he greeted every day as an adventure with friends.

His spirit lives on in the trees and paths, the sun and sand, and the cooling waters of the lake he loved so much. He is at peace now.

Thank you to all of Julian’s best friends for endlessly selling bracelets they purchased and designed in Julian’s memory. And to all that purchased them in support of DBSA.

Thank you for all your prayers, support, love and generous donations to DBSA in Julian’s memory. We thought $5K was a long shot! We are overwhelmed at the totals and it keeps rising! Make this website part of your wellness and mental health support. It could save someones life or maybe your own.

Sign up for the monthly newsletter it is full of very important information. Don’t judge people or their families. You never know what they are going through or struggling with. Help STOP the stigma of mental illness! God bless Julian our guardian angel. He is so missed.

Our beautiful boy joined God in heaven on Friday, September 22. He was 29. He was smart, strong, funny, kind, compassionate and full of love. A horrible accident ended his life. He suffered with bipolar disorder (manic depressive illness) coupled with addiction. This is a debilitating disease often stigmatized by society and mishandled by our medical system. Nick fought hard and we had high hopes. We thank those who helped him along the way and all those who loved him.

This story is like so many others. Most of us have lives that have been touched by mental illness. Wonderful, strong, sensitive people struggle daily to understand and cope with an illness that no one understands. Please contribute to this fund in honor and memory for those who continue to fight and in honor and love for those who have lost the battle. We love you Nick and will miss you forever! “The only shame in the fight against addiction and depression is indifference”

We love you, RIP our beautiful boy.

Please contribute in memory of Brian Mature by providing support to others affected by Bipolar Disorder. Brian’s battle with the disorder ended during his sleep on the morning of his 29th birthday. He was taking his meds and was stable the last years of his life. Brian was struggling with the disorder since his diagnosis at college ten years ago. We will miss his big heart, sense of humor and dynamic personality.
