DBSA Associate Board Member

Akira is a dedicated mental health advocate who is pursuing doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Columbia University. His personal struggle with major depression and PTSD motivates him to study the neurological and cognitive machinations of mood disorders. He hopes to contribute his knowledge and training to the field of mental health as well as support and mentor the upcoming generations of behavioral scientists. He is eager to contribute his skills and insight to the DBSA and provide support and education to those who struggle with mood disorders and their loved ones.
