Eric Underhill is a Peer and Policy Engagement Intern with a deep commitment to advocating for underserved and vulnerable populations in the behavioral health space. Currently pursuing an MSW at the University of Illinois Chicago with a specialization in Mental Health, Eric brings both professional expertise and lived experience to his work. As a Peer Support Coach at Northeastern Illinois University, he facilitated mental health initiatives and supported students under the university’s counseling services.
Eric is passionate about ensuring mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health and works to amplify peer voices in mental health policy. He is dedicated to helping others thrive, not just survive, by focusing on equitable access to care and integrating peer perspectives into the mental health system.
Outside of his work, Eric enjoys playing tennis and pickleball and spending time at the lakefront during the summer.
