Rebecca Cutler was a beautiful, gifted, talented, funny, best friend to so many. She was a wonderful daughter and sister who loved her family, enjoyed a good time and lived with depression and Bipolar Disorder. She talked about her illness to bring light and hope into the lives of those she cared about. She even wanted to write a "tell all" personal article for the magazine she worked at for 7 years. It was Rebecca's dream to eliminate the shame and discouragement felt by so many who suffer from depression and Bipolar Disorder.

Tragically, Rebecca lost her battle with Bipolar Disorder at age 30. In 2005, my dear friends, Gail & Norm Cutler started Rebecca's Dream - The Rebecca Lynn Cutler Legacy of Life Foundation to keep their daughter Rebecca's dream alive and to promote awareness and compassionate understanding of depression and Bipolar Disorder as real diseases.

This year, in memory of Rebecca and to honor my friends Gail and Norman, who live each day without their daughter, I will run to keep Rebecca's Dream alive. Although I've run many marathons in the past, this year I'm changing things up a bit. This year, rather than running one race, I'm running two! I will first run the Rock n' Roll Half-Marathon in Chicago on August 2 and then, on October 18, I will run the Nike Women's Half-Marathon in San Francisco. I thought two races fit Rebecca's personality better. Although Rebecca's family often reminds me that she would never run a half-marathon (but she would have been there cheering on the sidelines), they also tell me that she didn't like to do things in a small way. So, with that in mind, I'll run two races for her this year rather than one!

Please join me in my quest to raise $1800 for Rebecca's Dream. All amounts are appreciated. With your help we can carry on Rebecca's legacy and make a huge difference in the lives of so many. At a time when we're all tightening our belts and re-thinking our priorities, let's work together to make sure we don't lose another Rebecca.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. Most of all, thank you for your support and friendship.

Much love,
