Say It Forward Campaign
September 30–October 10
When it comes to mental health conditions, silence is not golden. Silence breeds stigma, and stigma hurts. It prevents people from seeking life-saving treatment and support. The International Bipolar Foundation (IBPF) and Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) hope you'll join forces with us to educate and inspire people to learn the facts about mood disorders and break the chains of stigma.
1 in 4 adults lives with a mental health condition, but only 1 in 3 receives treatment.
With treatment, individuals with mental health conditions can and do achieve their dreams and lead full, happy lives. When we educate ourselves and others, stigma loses some of its power and seeking treatment is a little less scary for those who need help. Say It Forward is our way of spreading the word with just a few clicks of the mouse!
How It Works
We've put together several myths and facts about mental health conditions to help you educate your friends, family, and colleagues—and we've tailored them for email, Facebook, and Twitter! Choose the most convenient way to Say It Forward, or try all three to reach as many individuals as you can! We'll be tracking how many people the campaign reaches and educates about mental health conditions during the week leading up to Bipolar Awareness Day. Please help us meet our goal of reaching 10,000 people this year!
