Employee, Corporate and Foundation Giving

Employee Giving

Matching Gifts: If you would like to double the impact of your gift, ask your HR department about their matching gifts program. Many companies will match your gift or your spouse’s gift to charity, even if you are retired.

Workplace Giving: Ask if your employer is part of Community Health Chairites (CHC) for an easy way to give at work. DBSA's CHC code is 12000.

Each year federal employees and military personnel donate millions of dollars through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) benefiting thousands of not-for-profit organizations. If you are a federal government or military employee, you can contribute to DBSA through the CFC by writing 12000 on your CFC pledge card. For more information contact the Office of CFC Operations at (202) 606-2564.

United Way: If your workplace donates to United Way, look for a "donor option," "donor choice," or "other 501 (c)(3) organization" line on your giving campaign form. Then write in:

Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance
730 N. Franklin St., Suite 501
Chicago, IL 60610-7224

Your local United Way will forward your gift to DBSA.

Corporate Giving
Corporations can designate a gift to develop a new program, underwrite a specific existing program or provide much needed support for overall operations.

Corporations may also support DBSA’s mission by including us in their:

  • Workplace giving campaigns
  • Matching gift programs
  • Cause Alliances

For information about how your corporation can become involved in DBSA’s vital mission, contact our Development Department at (800) 826-3632 or e-mail us at development@DBSAlliance.org.

Foundation Grant-making

Foundation gifts can be designated to develop a new program, underwrite a specific existing program, or to provide much needed support for overall operations.

DBSA regularly applies for grants from foundations all over the country and we are proud of our generous foundation supporters. We are also consistently looking for new foundation prospects. If you sit on a foundation board that may be interested in granting to DBSA or know someone who does, please contact our Development Department at (800) 826-3632 or email at development@DBSAlliance.org.

Funds donated to DBSA are carefully allocated as is demonstrated by our efficiency rating of 87%. This means that 87% of our total expenses are devoted solely to programs. DBSA is a not-for-profit Illinois corporation qualified under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All gifts are deductible based on federal IRS regulations. Please consult your tax advisor for more information. DBSA’s federal tax identification number (FEIN) is 36-3379124. Please contact the office at giving@DBSAlliance.org or (800) 826-3632 if you have any questions.
