2:00 pm Central Standard Time

Did you know that our canine friends can be an important tool in recovery? Find out how on Wednesday, January 30, when DBSA hosts its first live Recovery Chat, “Psychiatric Service Dogs,” with Joan Esnarya, PhD, president and founder of the Psychiatric Service Dog Society. To RSVP (it’s free!) for the January 30 chat with Dr. Esnarya, click the ticket icon on the right.

A recipient of Eli Lilly’s 2006 Primary Care “Welcome Back Award,” Dr. Esnayra has spent the past 10 years pioneering the concept of psychiatric service dogs. Building upon her training as a scientist, and her insights as a consumer, Dr. Esnayra and members of her online community identified over 30 tasks or functions that psychiatric service dogs may be trained to provide to those disabled by severe mental illness.

And don’t miss the Real Recovery podcast with Dr. Esnarya, available December 27 online in the DBSA Recovery Education Center.
